Our First Chapter: The Beginning of Asiatic In 1966, Mr. Tan Ah Kan founded Asiatic Engineering, securing the company’s flicence to test and maintain fire extinguishers and first aid equipment. What began as a small operation quickly grew into a trusted name in Singapore’s fire safety sector, built on dedication, integrity and a genuine commitment to protecting lives and property.
The Birth of KILLFIRE: Singapore’s Own Fire Extinguisher
In 1978, Asiatic Engineering Services (Pte) Ltd was officially incorporated, setting the stage for a new era of growth and innovation. By 1983, we proudly introduced KILLFIRE, Singapore’s very own locally manufactured fire extinguishers and equipment. Built with precision and reliability in mind, KILLFIRE became a symbol of homegrown quality and remains a trusted name in fire protection today.
Obtaining Recognition
Years of dedication and hard work began to pay off as Asiatic earned recognition as a reputable name in fire protection. In 1984 we secured our first government tender to service and install firefighting equipment across Singapore, marking a milestone that reflected the trust and confidence we had built through our commitment to quality and reliability.
Industrial Evolution
In 1986 we became Asiatic Fire System Pte Ltd, the name we are proudly known by today, expanding our expertise to deliver comprehensive fire protection solutions across industrial and commercial sectors. During the 1990s, we grew beyond land and entered the marine and offshore sector, strengthening our capabilities and earning recognition from leading international classification bodies such as ABS, BV, DNV, LR, NKK and RINA.
Ringing the Ceremonial Bell
In 2003, we became part of Asiatic Group (Holdings) Limited, marking a proud milestone as we were listed on the Singapore Exchange Catalist Board. The moment symbolised our growth from a local fire protection company to a recognised industry leader. To this day, we remain the only fire protection company listed on the Singapore Exchange, a testament to our stability, commitment and trusted reputation.
Recognition and Growth
Between 2011 and 2020, we strengthened our reputation locally and internationally with ISO 9001certification, bizSAFE accreditation, and TÜV SÜD approval. During this period, Asiatic Fire System proudly served over 1,000 customers, a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in our work. In 2014, our Director, Mr. George Tan, was honoured with the ACES Award for Corporate Excellence, recognising his leadership and the company’s continued dedication to quality and service.
